Fractured Moments II
Toronto, Canada — York University
This performance explored tension, release, and our fragile relationship with technology. Hand-made ceramic forms were placed on plinths beneath a mechanical system that unpredictably knocked them down and broke them. As each piece shattered, it was replaced with a new one, creating a continuous cycle of anticipation, rupture, and renewal witnessed by the audience. Visitors were invited to write their reflections in a journal, leaving traces that now remain part of the work. The ceramics were created by Soheil Alizadeh, whose hand-formed vessels carried a sense of care and intimacy, making each break both personal and irreversible.
